Stotfold Judo Club Social Media Policy: Use of Photos
1. Purpose:
This policy outlines Stotfold Judo Club’s approach to using photographs on our social media platforms. Our primary goal is to celebrate the achievements of our members, promote the club, and engage with our community while respecting privacy and upholding ethical standards.
2. Scope:
This policy applies to all photographs and media shared by Stotfold Judo Club on our official social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.), including promotional materials, event updates, and member achievements.
3. Consent:
Parental Consent for Minors: For members under the age of 18, written consent must be obtained from a parent or legal guardian before any photos or videos are shared on our social media.
Adult Members: All adult members (18+) must provide explicit consent to have their photographs used.
Revocation of Consent: Both parents/guardians and adult members have the right to withdraw consent at any time. If consent is withdrawn, the club will promptly remove any relevant content from social media.
4. Types of Photos:
We will primarily use photographs that reflect the positive, inclusive, and respectful nature of our club, including:
Action shots from training or competitions
Group photos at events or social gatherings
Celebratory moments (e.g., medal wins, belt promotions)
Photos or videos that capture personal moments or sensitive situations will not be shared without clear consent from the individual(s) involved.
5. Respecting Privacy:
We will not share images that could potentially violate a member’s privacy or dignity.
We will avoid sharing images that might be considered inappropriate or offensive.
We will respect requests from individuals who do not wish to be featured in photographs or on social media.
6. Tagging and Identifying:
Members’ names will not be used without their consent.
We will avoid tagging specific individuals in photos unless permission has been granted.
We encourage members to be mindful of tagging other members in images and videos. If someone is not comfortable being tagged, this will be respected.
7. Use of Professional Photographers:
If professional photographers are hired for an event or competition, the club will ensure that all participants are informed in advance and that consent is gathered as required.
Photos taken by professional photographers may be used for promotional materials or on social media with appropriate consent.
8. Club Responsibility:
The club will ensure all staff, volunteers, and coaches are aware of this policy and will monitor social media accounts for adherence to these guidelines.
Any concerns or complaints related to the use of photographs will be addressed promptly by the club's media and communications team.
9. Review and Updates:
This policy will be reviewed regularly to ensure compliance with legal requirements and best practices. The club will notify members of any updates to the policy.
